What is Vivos Therapy?

Vivos therapy differentiates from most other treatments by focusing on long-term results through long-term guided treatment. It’s not an instant resolution that simply masks symptoms.

Vivos uses a multi-disciplinary approach. This includes DNA or mRNA variants of a series of oral appliances designed to reshape the airway naturally over time. An obstructed airway caused by muscle abnormalities in the mouth, teeth issues, and more is what causes issues such as sleep apnea, snoring, clenching, etc. If you’re not a candidate for VIVOS, you may still benefit from oral appliance therapy for effective sleep apnea management.

DNA and mRNA appliances are available, and each one is aimed at tackling similar yet different versions of sleep apnea and other issues.

In any case, this is often accompanied by Myofunctional Therapy and other methods to ensure effectiveness.

How the DNA & mRNA Appliances Work

The two types of Vivos appliances are DNA and mRNA. While extremely similar, they serve different purposes.

DNA is one of the more versatile options. It is often used in both children and adults to widen the upper jaw and open the airway slowly.

The mRNA is used most often in adults. It’s designed to treat mild to moderate OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) by supporting lower jaw positioning while you sleep.

Regardless of the exact version you need, you expect your Vivos therapy to stimulate the reshaping and growth of your oral tissue naturally.

Vivos Therapy for Adults

Obstructive sleep apnea is often treated with a CPAP machine. That’s uncomfortable, cumbersome, and just helps with symptoms.

Vivos therapy focuses on resolving the core issues. By reshaping the jaw naturally, you slowly open the airway and allow for natural breathing at night without any surgeries.

This doesn’t mask the symptoms. It resolves the core problems. Some patients choose to enhance VIVOS results with clear aligners from Candid Pro or epigenetic airway appliances.

When the airway is opened, sleep apnea isn’t the only thing relieved. TMJ pain, clenching, snoring, migraines, mouth breathing, and even your overall sleep quality are improved.

Pediatric Vivos Treatment

Pediatric Vivos treatment is typically meant to be a preventative measure when airway issues are detected early.

By supporting proper development of the airway and oral structure, a child is far less likely to deal with snoring, sleep apnea, focus and sleep issues, and more. It also helps support normal facial growth.

This preventative measure gives your child a solid foundation for their future, and it can even prevent the need for braces.
